1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Opportunity Knocks Group (“Producers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your participation in Opportunity Knocks (“Program”).

This applies to all individuals before, during, and after the Program, including:

  • Applicants and audition participants
  • Cast members, featured families, performers, presenters, and extras
  • Guests or audience members
  • Crew, contractors, or consultants
  • Any individual whose personal information is provided to or collected by us in connection with the Program

This Policy does not create an employment relationship and does not override other policies we may provide depending on your role (e.g., workplace notices).

2. Information We Collect

We may collect personal information directly from you, from third parties, or from public sources, including:

  • Contact & Demographic Information: Name, address, email, phone, date of birth, gender, etc.
  • Application & Casting Information: Professional background, family details, personal story, and other information you choose to share.
  • Media & Recordings: Photos, audio, and video recordings created during auditions, filming, and promotional activities.
  • Health & Accessibility Information: Relevant details such as allergies, accessibility needs, or other accommodations.
  • Financial & Administrative Information: Banking, tax, and payment details where required.
  • Background Information: Public records, references, or background checks, subject to legal limits.
  • Other Sensitive Information: Such as race, ethnicity, beliefs, or orientation, only if voluntarily provided or relevant to casting or production.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Assess eligibility for casting and auditions
  • Manage production and program participation
  • Film, edit, promote, and distribute the Program across broadcast, streaming, and social media platforms
  • Promote the Program through marketing, press, and publicity campaigns
  • Arrange for health, safety, and accessibility accommodations
  • Process payments and comply with tax obligations
  • Comply with legal requirements and respond to lawful requests

4. Sharing Your Information

We may share your information with:

  • Authorized Service Providers: Such as payroll, travel, health and safety, or logistics vendors.
  • Distribution & Broadcast Partners: Television networks, streaming platforms, and promotional outlets.
  • Co-Production Partners: When relevant for joint productions.
  • Legal & Safety Authorities: When required by law or to protect health, safety, or security.
  • Viewers: Any media you appear in will be publicly available worldwide.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Your Rights

Because Opportunity Knocks Group operates under Washington law, your rights may include the ability to:

  • Request access to your personal information
  • Ask us to correct or update your information
  • Request deletion of certain information, subject to legal or production retention needs
  • Withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing

6. International Transfers

As the Program is broadcast nationally and internationally, your personal information may be transferred outside of Washington and the United States. We use safeguards to help ensure your information remains protected.

7. Retention

We retain personal information as long as needed for production, distribution, legal, and archival purposes. Program materials (such as episodes and promotional clips) may be retained and used indefinitely, as permitted by law.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your personal information, but no system can guarantee complete security.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, production practices, or technology. Updates will be posted with a revised “Last Modified” date.

How to Exercise Your Rights

We may ask for additional information to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Other U.S. States: Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, including but not limited to Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah, may have similar rights regarding access, correction, deletion, or limitation of personal information. We will honor requests consistent with the requirements of applicable state law.

Casting & Participation Terms of Use
1. Scope

1.1. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your participation in auditions, casting, and production activities (collectively, “Casting Activities”) for Opportunity Knocks (“Program”), produced by Opportunity Knocks Group (“Producers,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1.2. By submitting an application, audition materials, or otherwise participating in the Program, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, along with the Opportunity Knocks Production Privacy Policy.

1.3. If you do not agree, you must not participate in Casting Activities.

2. Changes

2.1. We may update these Terms at any time. Updates take effect when posted to the official casting website.

2.2. If material changes occur, we will notify registered applicants by email. The most recent version always applies.

3. Registration & Eligibility

3.1. You must provide accurate, complete, and current information. False or misleading information may result in disqualification.

3.2. Eligibility requirements:

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).

Applicants under 18 must provide verified parent/guardian consent.

You must not be a member of SAG-AFTRA, ACTRA, or other performers’ unions unless waived.

You must not have contractual obligations preventing full participation.

Neither you nor your immediate family/household members may be employees, contractors, or representatives of Opportunity Knocks Group, its affiliates, or production partners directly involved in the Program.

4. Submissions & Rights Granted

4.1. “Submissions” include any application materials, videos, photos, recordings, or other content you provide.

4.2. By submitting, you grant Opportunity Knocks Group a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, sublicensable license to use, edit, distribute, promote, broadcast, and otherwise exploit your Submissions in any media, now known or later developed.

4.3. You waive any “moral rights” in your Submissions and acknowledge they may be edited or altered at Producers’ discretion.

4.4. Producers are under no obligation to use, review, or return your Submissions.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringing content.
  • Misrepresent your identity, background, or eligibility.
  • Attempt to interfere with casting platforms, production systems, or another applicant’s participation.
  • Upload material containing viruses, malicious code, or unauthorized intellectual property.

6. Selection & Disqualification

6.1. Producers may, at their sole discretion, select or reject applicants for auditions, casting, or participation.

6.2. Selection for an audition does not guarantee casting in the Program.

6.3. Producers may disqualify you at any stage for violating these Terms, failing to meet eligibility, or engaging in disruptive conduct.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1. All rights in the Program, including its episodes, format, promotional materials, and related intellectual property, are owned exclusively by Opportunity Knocks Group.

7.2. Your participation does not grant you ownership or rights in the Program.

8. Nature of Relationship

Participation in Casting Activities or the Program does not create an employment relationship. You acknowledge that appearances are voluntary and not compensated unless otherwise set out in a separate written agreement with Producers.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Opportunity Knocks Group, its affiliates, and partners from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your Submissions, your breach of these Terms, or your participation in the Program.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Producers are not responsible for any injury, loss, or damage arising out of your participation.

All Casting Activities and Program participation are provided “as is” and “as available.”

Producers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

11.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11.2. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or small claims court in King County, Washington, to the fullest extent permitted by law. Class actions and jury trials are waived.

12. Miscellaneous

These Terms constitute the entire agreement regarding Casting Activities.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining Terms remain valid.

These Terms survive even if your participation ends.
